Hi there, I am Kostas Pagiannopoulos, researcher on Applied Cryptography, Side-Channel Analysis and Hardware Security. I use this page to share academic work such as publications, side-channel tracesets and cipher implementations.

I am currently an assistant professor in the department of informatics of the University of Amsterdam (UvA), in the Netherlands.
I am a member of the System and Networking Lab (SNE), in particular the group for Complex Cyber Infrastructures (CCI) and the group for Security by Design (SBD).
I am used to work as a cryptographer and vulnerability analyst at NXP Semiconductors Hamburg, in Germany
I obtained my PhD in Side-Channel Analysis from Radboud University Nijmegen, Department of Digital Security, in the Netherlands.
My research interests revolve around embedded systems, high-performance and resource-constrained cipher implementations, power and electromagnetic side-channel attacks, side-channel countermeasures, statistics and machine learning, intrusion detection, lightweight cryptography and more recently neural networks.
In winter 2017 I visited the Information Security group at University College London.
In winter 2015 I was a research intern at Riscure.
In 2013 I completed my master in Computer Security in the joint program of Radboud University, Technical University of Eindhoven and University of Twente, formerly known as Kerckhoffs Master, currently TRU/e master in Cyber Security.
In 2011 I graduated from the school of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens.
I was born in 1988 in Ioannina, Greece and graduated from the 3rd Public Highschool of Ioannina.
